Men is dark suits, in dark spaces, speaking about dark times…….
Anyone would think that we Christians are obsessed with evil and its penultimate moment. For a moment indeed it will be. The thing is that we are not destined as Christians for this end. We have precious promises. We will be with Jesus and will no longer need the sun and the moon. Who knows what this will be like and how it will come. We speculate but this is God’s great plan. Yes He gives us hints, but let’s be humble and remember that mankind generally was wrong about how the Messiah would come the first time and did not recognise Jesus. Yes, we have the advantage of the Holy Spirit, but given we find ourselves as humans in the midst of a spiritual war and death has yet to be conquered there is much we do not understand because it’s strategic and heavenly and if we know it all so does the enemy.
Which brings me to our ending. New Heaven, New Earth. Let me remind those obsessed with dark end times speculations. We need to be prepared and we need to be praying and we need to be watching but we need to fix our eyes on Jesus. – the author and finisher of our race….not us. Goodness me. Such arrogance to think we know what God has in store. Let’s just say it’s good. In fact let’s say it’s really, really good. 1 Corinthians 2:9 says
but just as it is written [in Scripture],
“Things which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard,
And which have not entered the heart of man,
All that God has prepared for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, who obey Him, and who gratefully recognize the benefits that He has bestowed].”
I have been pondering how good….this little story is just one reflection…..keep looking to Jesus. He loves you. He knows.
